He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Mary Myers (Hermann), Ronnie Oxendine, Dick and Patty Bish; and his close friend David Sexton.
He is survived by: his parents, Dennis Ray Bish (Janet) of Hagerstown and Connie Dean Litz (Oxendine) of Brunswick; his wife Kelsey Bish (White); his siblings, Brian Case (Anne), Jennifer Schweinsberg (Rick), Denise Bish (Chris), Allison Rockwell (Eric) and Cody Swope (Lydia); his parents-in-law, Doug and Michelle White; and his brother-in-law Mason White. He is also survived by 9 nieces and nephews; 2 honorary nieces; and numerous aunts, uncles.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Washington County Public Safety Training Center (18350 Public Safety Pl, Hagerstown, MD 21740). A reception will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Training Center.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Derek's honor to the firehouse of your choice.
