He was predeceased by: his parents, John William Mills and Alma Ruth Mills (Myers); his brother William Lee Mills; and his siblings-in-law, Wanda Mills, Hillard Shank, Helen Malcolm and Walter Malcolm.
He is survived by: his significant other Ruth Delores Mills (Shank); his son John Gregory Mills (Sandra); his grandchildren, Amy Adamson (Bud) and Aaron Mills (Emily); his great grandchildren, Collin Thornton, Duncan John and Ethan Daniel Adamson; his sister-in-law Zella Lucille Shank; his nieces, Pamela Byler (Jim) and Robin Danfelt; and his nephew Robert Mills (Tammy).
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the Donald Edwin Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. (13607 National Pike, Clear Spring, MD 21722). A funeral service will be held on Monday, June 23rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in John's honor to the Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 400, Clear Spring, MD 21722 or to the Joseph C. Herbert Clear Spring American Legion Post 222.
