He is survived by: his wife Lydia Smith; his children, Eric Freeland, Nathan Smith, Jr. and Felicia Biles (Malcolm); and his siblings, Melvin Smith, Maxine Battle, Thelma Carter (Walter) and Elsie Rountree. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and a host of other relatives and friends.
