He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Schmitz and Irene Schmitz (Barrett); and his siblings, Mary Schmitz, Yvonne Herman, Agnes Meyerring, Anne Finnefrock, Francis, Gaylord and Bob.
He is survived by: his wife June Zelno; his children, Luke and Stephanie; and his sister Catherine Schmitz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
