We announce the death of Barbara Wicker of Coltons Point, Maryland, who passed away on September 12, 2026, at the age of 66. Barbara will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles H. Scott and Lucy P. Scott; and her brother Gerald Scott, Sr.. She is survived by: her sisters, Delores Wathen, Violet Garner, Shirley Grow (Bill) and Nancy St. Clair-Abell; her sister-in-law Peggy Scott; her significant other Al Nelson; and her pets, Callie and Autumn. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home (211 St Marys Ave, La Plata, MD 20646). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at the Trinity Memorial Gardens (3221 Mattawoman Beantown Rd, Waldorf, MD 20604).
In lieu of flowers, monetary contributions can be made to a Colton's Point medical equipment charity that is close to Barbara and Al hearts.
