He was predeceased by : his parents, Gene Downey and Mildred Martin Downey; and his sisters, Carol Downey and Mary Hendrickson (Rose). He is survived by : his wife Mary Lou Griffin Downey; his children, Kevin Downey, Donna Downey, Kathleen Karcher (Downey), George Karcher, Sheila Shaw (Downey), David Shaw, Michael Downey and Denise Downey; his grandchildren, Delaney Casaclang (Karcher), Chris Casaclang, Brittney Shaw, Chris Karcher, Kaitlyn Shaw, Tabitha Downey and Kevin James Downey; his great grandchild Grayson Rodriguez (Downey); and his brother Paul Martin Downey.
