He was predeceased by : his parents, Orace Jerry and Beatrice Lawson McCready; his wife Florine Elizabeth Twigg McCready; his siblings, Maxwell McCready, Bates McCready, Leo McCready, Iola McCready Isdell and Donald McCready; his son Jerry W. McCready, Jr.; and his stepson Clinton Carroll "C. C." Mariner.

He is survived by : his stepson Gary Hale; his nieces and nephews, Cindy Jones, David Crockett, Debbie Gales, Donnie Crockett, Linda Holland and Mackie McCready; and his friend Philip Widdowson.
