He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Elizabeth Dashiell Carey; his brother John Cleveland Carey, III; his aunt Cecile Watson; and his uncle Alfred Thomas Dashiell. He is survived by: his father John Cleveland Carey, II of Crisfield; his daughter Catherine Elizabeth "Bizzy" Carey Erving (Steven Erving, II) of Willards; his grandchildren, Lyam Erving, Sean Erving and Chase Erving; his aunts, Barbara Underwood, Suzanne and Sharon Dashiell; and his uncle Don Ford. He is also survived by cousins and life-long friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Sunnyridge Memorial Park.
