She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Mitchell and Katherine Keim Hill; her husband Dr. Norman L. Barger; her grandson Patrick Quigley; and her siblings, John K. Hill, Bernard M. Hill, Charles Frederick Hill and Patricia Mulligan.
She is survived by: her daughters, Kathy Snyder LaVale (David) and Jennifer Barger of Westminster; her grandchildren, Carrie Jaso (Matt), Katherine Loughrie LaVale (Johnathan), Jillian Fradiska LaVale (Sean) and Benjamin Quigley; and her great grandchildren, David, Daniel, Cecily Jaso, Anna, Molly Loughrie, Emily, Max and Luke Fradiska.
Carole was the ultimate animal lover and in accordance with her wishes, memorial contributions may be directed to the Allegany County Animal Shelter, P. O. Box 566 Cumberland, MD 215021-0566.
