It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris May Martin Giornesto of Cumberland, Maryland, who passed away on October 5, 2025, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Arthur William Martin and Kathryn Alice Martin (Gahres); her husband Charles Giornesto, Jr.; her siblings, Arthur Gahres, Charles William, Henry Leroy, Robert Elias Martin and Jean Kathryn Martin Kline; her siblings-in-law, Laura Giornesto, Sally Giornesto, Connie Erps, Dona Jean Maynard Martin, Mary Neamtz, Aithra Martin (Vlahapolous), Genevieve Giornesto, Josephine Kelly, Sam Giornesto, Kenneth Giornesto, Guy Giornesto, Vern Erps, Bill Kifer, Rev. Harold E. Kline, William Kelly and John Neamtz; and her niece Marie Sheaffer.
She is survived by: her sister-in-law DoRee Kifer.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the Scarpelli Funeral Home (108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD 21502). A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 23rd 2025 at 11:30 AM at the same location.
