With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ernest Eugene Combs Sr. of Cumberland, Maryland, born in Kirby, West Virginia, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 25, 2024 at the age of 97. He was predeceased by: his parents, Asa Benton and Viola Mae Combs (Ludwig); his wife Helen Marie Combs (Hott); and his brothers, Arthur, Madison, Granville and Paul.
He is survived by: his son Ernest "Gene" Combs, Jr. (Ellen); his grandchildren, Adam Combs (Kathleen), Kristie Thomas (Sean) and Kaetie Markley (Johnny); his great grandchildren, Kylie, Makinlie Thomas, Ashlyn, Leah Combs, Taylor, Jordynn Markley and Canaan Markley; his sisters, Mabel Morton, Hazel Greene and Millie Canavan; and his siblings-in-law, Pauline Saville (Merle Ray) and John Saville (Joyce). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
