“I first met Gary in 2024 when he very kindly volunteered his time to help me dismantle my late cousin Bob Armstrong’s 1946 Schweizer SGU 1-19 Glider prior to its sale. I had also been consulting with him regarding future donations to the Allegany Museum, in hopes that their aviation display would return. In memory of his friendship with the Armstrong family, I have made a donation to his designated charity: www.frostburg.edu/GivePhillips. My sincere condolences go out to his wife and family.”
