James William Garrison Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of James William Garrison (Cumberland, Maryland), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 21, 2025 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though James William may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James William touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Garrison and Sarah Garrison; his wife Shirley Jean Garrison; and his daughter Therese Garrison. He is survived by: his daughters, Frances Dermound, Mary Bell (Louis) and Laura Beem (Pat); and his stepdaughters, Debra Trutt (Daniel) and Barbara Seeger (Jason). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and nine step great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cresaptown Eagles Club (14700 McMullen Hwy SW, Cumberland, MD 21502).
