She was loved and cherished by many people including: parents: Edward "Pat" Patrick Logsdon and JoAnn (Boyle) Logsdon; husband: George Shaffer; daughter: Jennifer Shaffer; sons: GR Shaffer (Jocelyn), Ryan Shaffer (Leah), and Steve Shaffer; grandchildren: Bailey Stumbaugh (Nick), Deegan Shaffer, Sarah Shaffer, Gage Shaffer, Sean Shaffer, Raegan Morgan (Ryan), Anna Christopher (Tyler), Leah Shaffer, and Caroline Shaffer; other: Evelyn Adams, Deacon Jim Rose, Dr. Ransom; and 7 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, family, and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Adams Family Funeral Home (404 Decatur St, Cumberland, MD 21502). A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 14th 2026 at 7:00 PM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in Karen's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
