We bid farewell to Mary E Rice of Cumberland, Maryland, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on December 12, 2025 at the age of 93. Mary touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Thomas Hughes and Elizabeth Loretta Hughes (Moran); her husband D. Joseph Rice; and her siblings, John, Francis, Bob, Bernie Hughes and Helen Rotruck.
She is survived by: her children, Larry J. Rice (Terrie), Mandy Thomas (Adam), Mark Beard (Tranea) and Taylor Maiers (Kaitlyn); and her grandchildren, Olivia, Emma, Ava, Ethan and Soleil. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and numerous in-laws.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 17th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Adams Family Funeral Home (404 Decatur St, Cumberland, MD 21502). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (300 E Oldtown Rd, Cumberland, MD 21502).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's name to Our Lady of the Mountains Parish St. Mary's Catholic Church 300 E. Oldtown Rd, Cumberland, MD.
