He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert H. Whitacre and Dessie Whitacre (Yokum); his wife Beatrice Whitacre (Glaze); and his sister Georgia Lee Chaney (Whitacre). He is survived by: his sons, Richard E. Whitacre, Jr. (Donna) and David M. Whitacre; his granddaughter Brooke Shilling of Meyersdale, PA; his stepgranddaughter Shelley Barman; and his sisters, Mary V. Whitacre and May Snowberger of Cleveland, OH. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; many friends and former coworkers.
