Roy Raymond Delawder Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roy Raymond Delawder of Cumberland, Maryland, who passed away on March 2, 2026, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Columbus C. Delawder and Georgia Delawder (Arbutus); his wife Virginia Delawder (Ginger); his son Matthew Raymond Delawder; his siblings, Marvin C. Delawder, Norman A. Delawder and Helen D. Middleton; and his sister-in-law Edye Zembower.
He is survived by: his daughter Colleen Delawder (Bob Matthews); his brother Ray W. Delawder (Martha); and his siblings-in-law, Douglas W. Harman (Constance), Kay Delawder, Janet Hammond, Moorefield and W. Va. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, March 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Scarpelli Funeral Home (108 Virginia Ave, Cumberland, MD 21502). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Roy's memory do so by making contributions to the Spring Gap Community Cemetery (Mount Tabor Cemetery) Fund, Robert Slider, c/o Spring Gap Community Cemetery, 15321 Brice Hollow Road, Cumberland, MD 21502.
