Sherrell Virginia Wharton Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 12, 2025, at the age of 91, Sherrell Virginia Wharton of Cumberland, Maryland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Parsons and Rosella Brinkman (Keefer); her husband Harry Melvin Wharton; her brother Joseph Parsons; and her nephew Mike Kegg.
She is survived by: her daughter Diane Katz (Tracy); her grandsons, Aaron Katz and Dan Katz; her brothers, Ed Parsons (Pat) and Rich Parsons (Dreama); and her nephews, Mark Parsons, Dale Parsons (Tammy), Steve Parsons and Steve Wharton (Rosemary).
Visitation was held on Friday, September 19th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Adams Family Funeral Home (404 Decatur St, Cumberland, MD 21502). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in her name to: Christ United Methodist Church, 336 Race Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.
