It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Twyla R Payne of Cumberland, Maryland, who passed away on October 14, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry J. Mallow and Della Mildred Mallow (Johnson); her husband Leon Payne; her son Mark Payne; and her siblings, Rosalie Cowgill and Harry Mallow.
She is survived by: her daughter Danita Tichnell (Rich); her grandchildren, Randy Payne (Tess), Melissa Batson (Brian), Jeremy Payne (Tasha), Kevin Tichnell (Meghann), Dustin Tichnell (Kadi), Liz Hanna (Josh) and Garrett Tichnell (Amy); her close friend Dale Hillegas; her sister Vada Williams; and her sister-in-law Gay Mallow. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
A committal service will be held on Friday, October 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery (14205 Pleasant Valley Rd NE, Flintstone, MD 21530).
