He was predeceased by: his parents, William Avey and Frances Avey; his wife Wilda Mae Avey; and his siblings, Fredrick Anderson Avey, Sharon Lee Sigmund and Cora Louise Penturff.
He is survived by: his children, William Avey Jr. (Rebecca) of San Antonio, TX, Vicki Avey Lang (Philip) of Columbia, MD and Jeffrey Avey (Christine) of Cumberland, MD; his grandchildren, Natasha Avey, Nicolas Avey, Gavin Avey, Tiffany Roschy-Lang (Jonathan), Brittany Lang and Drew Avey; his sister Diana Hester O'Neal; his extended family, Connie, Rick Twigg, Matthew, Megan Twigg and Sara Twigg; his pet Jake Avey II; Carson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
