He was predeceased by: his parents, Nora Shipley and Maurice Shipley; and his wife Polly Hayes Shipley. He is survived by: his children, Steve Yates of Clarksburg and Darlene Yates Curran of Orange Park. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Bethesda United Methodist Church (11900 Bethesda Church Rd, Damascus, MD 20872). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
