He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter E Haines Jr. and Ruth Haines (Watkins); and his grandson Steven Haines. He is survived by: his wife Janet Haines (Watkins); his children, Shirley Appleby (Mark) of Snow Hill and Jason Haines (Melody) of Damascus; and his granddaughter Courtney Haines (Juver) of Damascus.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the Mountain View Methodist Church.
