We are sad to announce that on June 28, 2022, at the age of 72, Sumner Darron Long of Damascus, Maryland, born in Frederick, Maryland passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvin Leroy Long and Betty Sawyers Burdette; and his half-sister Jodi Merritt. He is survived by: his wife Terri Long; his daughters, Kim (Rusty Roepke) and Lauren Paylor; his stepmother Ruth Brown (Ken); his parents-in-law, Tom Gartner, Sr. and Joyce of Mount Airy, MD; his brother-in-law Tom Gartner, Jr. (Deb); his uncle Stewart Graf of Hampstead, MD; his cousins, Jeff Graf (Jan), Dave Graf (Dawn) and Mary Kay Dennis (Robert Earl Sawyers); his stepbrother Donnie Burdette (Jeanette) of Frederick, MD; his uncles, Sumner Sawyers and Kyle Sawyers; and his aunt Carolyn Sue Sawyers.
