In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Richard had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Richard may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Orey Burton and Mabel Burton; and his siblings, Dale Bass, Charles Burton, Jerry Burton and Gladys Daniel.
He is survived by: his wife Anne Burton; and his son Benjamin Burton.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Grace Memorial Episcopal Parish Hall (1022 Main St, Darlington, MD 21034).
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to a scholarship fund set up in his name at Shore Regional School District, 132 Monmouth Park Highway, West Long Branch, NJ 07764. Please note on the check that the donation is to the Burton Scholarship Fund.
