He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Fate and Ruth Fate; his wives, Dixie Lee Hutzell Fate and Peggy Jean Lipford Fate; and his siblings, James Fate and Evelyn Whitmore Stevens.
He is survived by: his children, Gregory Charles Fate (Karen) of Lothian, MD, Matthew Ross Fate (Tricia) of Odenton, MD and Peggy Jean Fate-Stark (Robert) of Denton, MD.; his grandchildren, Ryan Fate (Kelsey), Logan Fate, Kayla Fate Collins (Britt), Ali, Emma and Riley Belote; and his great grandchildren, Adley and Drake Collins.
A celebration of life was held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Kalas Funeral Home (2973 Solomons Island Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a local Hospice organization of your choice in his name.
