Joann Marie Newkirk Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joann Marie Newkirk of Davidsonville, Maryland, born in Pottsville, Pennsylvania, who passed away on July 10, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Francis Fidler and Florence Yearicks (Francis); her stepfather Floyd Yearicks; her siblings, Frank Fidler (Fran) and Florence Parker (Ronald); and her granddaughter Taylor Newkirk-McBride.
She is survived by: her children, Martin Newkirk Jr. (Karen) of Davidsonville, MD., Nancy Bea Frankenfield (Terry), Sandra Snyder Sr. (Edward), Karen Kay Kirschner (Scott), Joann A Newkirk (Robert) and Bobby; and her grandchildren, Martin Newkirk III (Kimberly), Drew Newkirk (Christine), Austin Newkirk, Michelle Hunt (Dave), Michael Frankenfield, Edward Snyder, Elizabeth Snyder, Samantha Conover (Christopher), Jeffrey Johnson Jr. (Kristen), Danielle Kirschner, Sarah Kirschner, Daniel Newkirk (Megan) and Joshua Newkirk (Katie-Jo). She is also survived by 21 Great Grandchildren; 7 Great-Great Grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Evoy Funeral Home (3218 Bayshore Rd, Cape May, NJ 08204). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, July 17th 2025 from 12:15 PM to 12:30 PM at the Cold Spring Cemetery (780 Seashore Rd, Cape May, NJ 08204).
