It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Russell Smith Sr. of Davidsonville, Maryland, born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on March 22, 2022, at the age of 77, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was loved and cherished by many people including : his father James George Edward; his wife Sylvia Ellen O'Dell Smith; his sons, Joseph Russell Smith Jr. (Nancy) of Lusby, George Douglass Smith (Terri) of Glen Burnie and Daniel Scott Smith (Alicia) of Davidsonville; his siblings, James "Butch" Smith (Christine) of Callao, VA, Joan Katherine Smith Brown of Virginia and Patricia Ann Smith Gaines of Virginia; his grandchildren, Rebecca, Christopher, Joshua, Nathan, Nolan and Nelson; his great grandchildren, Abigail and Ryleigh; and his sisters, Josephine Marie Smith Greenwood and Mary Ellen Smith. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.
