She is survived by: her former spouse Annie Carswell; her children, Nora, Vera, Clayton, Elva, Gladys, Lyle, Mabel and Hazel; her husband Lt. Douglas Weikle of Cut Knife; her son Scott Olaf (Karen) of Deale; her sister-in-law Mary; her son Thomas (Michelle); Harlan Douglas, Emma, Nora of Edgewater and Shannon of Bowie, Maryland.. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, September 5th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kalas Funeral Home & Crematory (2973 Solomons Island Rd, Edgewater, MD 21037). These included the First World War, a shocking worldwide influenza pandemic, the Great Depression, the devastating droughts and crop failures that created the dust-bowl conditions of the 1930s known as the "Dirty '30s," and finally, the Second World War.
