He was predeceased by: his parents, D. Ernest Matthews and Stella Sirman; and his wife Elizabeth. He is survived by: his daughters, Theresa Elizabeth Haggerty (Andrew) and Barbara Lynn Matthews; his grandson Nicholas Andrew Haggerty; and his siblings, Mary Ellen Donaway, Patricia Shrawder, Dottie Ballard, Dan Matthews, Ted Matthews and Bob Matthews. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
