He was predeceased by: his parents, Calvin Ellis, and Anna Lela Ellis, Sr.; his former wife Wanda Lee Ellis (Shockley); his grandson Dustin Ellis; and his brothers, Calvin, Jr., Bobby and Howard Ellis.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Joy Serrin; his children, Tonya Hoppa (John) and Stephen Ellis, Jr. (Erin); his stepchildren, Stephanie Lawhorn (Rick) and Joshua Palmquist; and his grandchildren, Hunter Broseker (Courtney), Cara Hoppa, Justine Ramsey (Caleb), Morgan Hoppa (Parker), Jenna Hoppa, Ethan Ellis (Molly), Sky Beltran (Kelvin), Jordi Kellett (Jakob), Austin Lawhorn and Vincent Palmquist. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
