He was predeceased by: his father Harry Nice Muir, Sr.; and his birth mother Lizzy Edith Emilie Oncken. He is survived by: his mother Rona L. Muir (Roni) of Denton; his wife Gayle M. Muir of Denton; his daughter Monica L. Jones (Jake) of Lusby, MD; his siblings, Harry Nice Muir, Jr. (Cathie) of The Villages, FL and Marilyn Muir Evey (Scott) of Preston, MD; his grandchildren, Caleb William Hall, Bella Marie Jones and Connor Matthew Jones; his nieces and nephews, Amanda Joy Muir, Kathryn Muir Coons, Ryan Carr Muir and Alex King Muir; and his pets, Scruffy, Chloe, Furby, Stella and Motor.
