He is survived by: his children, Donald R. Merritt (Theresa), James E. Merritt, Cynthia J. Merritt and Redman R. Merritt; his grandchildren, Crystal of Kevin, D. J., Chris, Michael, Amanda, Frank, Jennifer, Lisa, Ashley and Tonya; and his sister Janis Faye Bunn. He is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
