He is survived by: his wife Veronica "Ronnie" Smith; his children, Christopher L. Smith (Linda) and Amber M. Bertholdt (James Jr.); his grandchildren, Alexis, James "Bub" and Nevin; his great grandchildren, Millie and Mylie; his siblings, Rubin Smith and Bonnie Maddox; and his pets, Baby, Big Boy, Stray Baby, Jayda and Benelli.
