He is survived by: his wife Marlene Schaeffer; his children, Theresa Murphy (Richard), John Schaeffer, Jr. (Sharon) and Thomas Schaeffer (Kathleen); and his grandchildren, Sarah Faulhaber (Bradley), Rachel Schaeffer (Patrick Lawrence), Jennifer Schaeffer, John Patrick Murphy, Richie Murphy, Casey Murphy, Meredith Hays and Addison Hays.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the Wise Ave. Volunteer Fire Company, 214 Wise Ave., Dundalk, MD 21222 or to the St. James the Apostle Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2335 Cramer Rd., Brogue, PA 17309.
