He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Marilyn A. Derda; his children, Melvin M. Derda, Jr., Kenneth Derda and Cynthia Messina; his stepson Robert Barbarino; his grandchildren, Samantha Derda, Kenneth Derda, Jr., Corey Derda, Lauren Messina, Jessica Clevenger and Bobby Barbarino; and his great grandchildren, Sylis, Kira and Luca.
