She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Lee Whitby and Sallie Mae Jones Whitby; her husband Captain Thomas Payne; her daughter-in-law Barbara Jones Payne; and her siblings, Hilda Kunze, Edith Whitby, Irene Whitby, Elmer and Paul Whitby.
She is survived by: her sons, Marty (Linette) of St. Michaels and David (Chrissie) of Preston; her granddaughters, Rev. Kelsey Spiker (Matt), Kristen Payne (Steve) and Megan Lataille (Alex); her great grandchildren, Katie Roe, Ava Allendorf, Oliver, Franklin Lataille, Bryce and Brynn Spiker; her niece Jane Kunze of Easton; her sisters, Eva Shockley and Betty Kackley; and her sister-in-law Imelda Whitby of Queen Anne. She is also survived by other nieces and nephews.
