He is survived by: his wife Gretchen Scherping (Kalb); his children, Karen Gulcicek (Erol) of Madison, Connecticut, Lisa Scherping Knox (Benjamin Knox) of Johnson City, Tennessee, Dr. Steven Scherping, Jr. (Loran Salamone) of Great Falls, Virginia and Scott Scherping (Julianne) of Harleysville, Pennsylvania.; his brother William Scherping (Rita) of Salisbury, Maryland; and his grandchildren, Steven, Michael, Jonathan, Sara, Abigail, Ethan, Elizabeth, Samantha, Sarabeth, Alexandra, Dylan and John Henry.
