He is survived by: his parents, John Francis Payne and Susan Ripple Payne of Centreville, MD.; his sons, Benjamin Payne (Taira) of Lusby, Nicholas "Ryan" Payne of Preston, Christopher Payne of Preston and Russell Payne of Easton, MD.; and his brothers, Lawrence Payne (Kay) of Oak Island, NC and Gregory Payne (Lynn) of Centreville, MD.. He is also survived by many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews and Cousins.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church (1210 S Washington St, Easton, MD 21601). A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church Cemetery (1214 S Washington St, Easton, MD 21601).
