She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Collison III and Eleanor Collison (Leitch); and her brothers, Thomas, Ronald, Gary and Jeff Collison.
She is survived by: her husband Walter Wayne Callender; her son George Wesley Callender (Tammy Simmons-Callender); her granddaughters, Megan and Victoria Callender; and her brother Larry Collison. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Instead of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Cancer Society as Joan bravely fought several types of cancer for over 30 years.
