“Jack was an amazing, gentle, and caring man. He always had words of wisdom for me when I started coming to Baltimore for contract bargaining. He was a big teddy bear that could always make you laugh. He still couldn't get me to eat oysters though. Rest on Papa Jack, you will be missed. April Lott”

Jay Graboski wrote a sympathy message

“This man was a force of nature. Funny, smart, clever, trustworthy, friendly, cheerful, brave, clean and reverent. Only 3 years my senior, he was the go-to-guy for words of wisdom and advice when it came to dealing with the vicissitudes of life. He was also a blast to be around and engage in activities with, the most ordinary being transformed into an adventure via his being present. I love this joyous man and was privileged to know him. He was a luminous beacon of positivity, I will miss him.”
