He was predeceased by : his parents, George E. Ellis, Sr. and Lillian Ellis; and his wife Teresa Ellis. He is survived by : his sisters, Patricia Carey (Ellis) and Mary Beth Cavanaugh (Ellis); his children, Margaret Pendagast (William), Laura Weir (Glen), Kimberly Kovack (Jerry), Rosemary McDaniel-Hollenbaugh and George Ellis (Hollie); his grandchildren, Kaitlin Shaw (Glen), Megan Pendagast, Julia Pendagast, Christopher Weir (Sallie), Stephen Weir, Kelly Weir, Ryan Kovack, Lindsay Kovack, Britaney McDaniel, Taylor Hollenbaugh, Luke Ellis, Blake Sheaffer and Emilee Sheaffer; and his great grandchild Theodore Weir. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bob Compher wrote a sympathy message

“Dear family, can’t believe that a dear friend has died. We will miss him dearly. He was one of the “cacaponers” group of eight that got together every June to play golf go to dinner and just have fun. Loved him like family. Also a member of Fairway Hills Senior golf association for over twenty years. We are now in Florida and sad that we will miss his funeral. We send our love and prayers to all of the Ellis family.
