He was predeceased by: his parents, George Oberender and Marie Oberender; and his siblings, George, Richard, Ronald and Arlene.
He is survived by: his wife Suzanne Howser; his sons, Michael (Tina) of Fisherville, Robert (Katie) of Elkridge and Stephen (Megan) of Booths Corner; his grandchildren, Ian (Lindsay), Ben, Sarah, Austin, Perry, Marshall and Rebecca; and his sisters, Liz (Pete) and Eleanor (Steve) of Baltimore.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 5th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Gary L Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Inc. (7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Holy Nativity Lutheran Church (1200 Linden Ave, Arbutus, MD 21227). A burial will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at the Meadowridge Memorial Park (7250 Washington Blvd, Elkridge, MD 21075).
