He was predeceased by: his wife Santa Smiroldo; his parents, Carmelo Smiroldo and Giuseppa Smiroldo; and his siblings, Maria Zizzo and Tindaro Smiroldo.
He is survived by: his daughters, Maria Smiroldo Scollar and Elizabeth "Lisa" Smiroldo; his son-in-law Robert Scollar; and his grandson Nathan Scollar.
Viewing was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home (11800 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20904). A funeral Mass was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Holy Rosary Church (595 3rd St NW, Washington, DC 20001). A burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
