She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Meril Brandon and Hortense Watkins Poteat; her stepchildren, Rodney Blackston of Baltimore, Maryland, Pamela Richmond (Harold) of Baltimore, Maryland, Sindy Teal-Jones of Baltimore, Maryland and Jeffery Blackston (Rennee) of Baltimore, Maryland; her siblings, Roy Poteat of Baltimore, Ernest Poteat (Flossy) of Bronx, Edith Atkinson (Clifton) of Washington, DC and Minister Marie Poteat-Okafor of Roxboro; her godson Bernard Williams of Owen Mills, Maryland; and her cousin Angela Williams of Baltimore. She was also cherished by nieces, nephews, cousins and other loving relatives and friends.
