He was predeceased by: his parents, Bruce W. Diebold and Ruth Groff Diebold; his brothers, Raymond and Tom; and his granddaughter Emilee Diebold.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn J. Jones Diebold; his children, Shane D. Diebold and Shannon L. Brown (Doug); and his sister Diane Johnson (Bill). He is also survived by three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
