The passing of Francis X. Hughes Sr. of Elkton, Maryland leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on June 4, 2025 at the age of 98. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Francis shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Francis farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Hughes and Elizabeth O'Neil Hughes Short; his wife Betty Towlinski; and his former wife Catherine Iorio Hughes. He is survived by: his children, Michael Hughes (Peggy) of Pennsylvania, Kathleen Kratchman (Sheldon) of Pennsylvania, Diane Satterthwaite (Dave) of Pennsylvania and Francis Hughes Jr. (Lisa) of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church (454 Bow St, Elkton, MD 21921). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, June 21st 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Cemetery (454 Bow St, Elkton, MD 21921).
