It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gerrit Hopman in Elkton, Maryland, who passed away on April 8, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Jane Hopman; and his brothers, Warren Hopman and Willie Hopman. He is survived by: his children, Arthur Hopman (Rebecca), Gerry Hopman (Linda), David Hopman (Lori), Donald Hopman (Kimberly), Ken Hopman (Angel) and Lora Beaudett (Park); and his siblings, Herman Hopman (Allene), Arie Hopman and Anneke Rutten. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren, with 1 great-grandson.
His memory will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him, and his contributions to his family and community will be remembered with the deepest respect and affection.
