She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Harold (Gus) and Mary Aimee Henderson; her husband Charles D. Long Jr.; her brothers, John A. Henderson and Walter Harold Henderson; and her son-in-law Ralph H. Newton.
She is survived by: her daughter Paula H. Newton of Elkton, MD; and her brother Charles Lawrence Henderson of Elkton, MD. She is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hicks Home For Funerals (103 Stockton St, Elkton, MD 21921). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 24th 2025 at the Sharps Cemetery (226 Lewisville Rd, Elkton, MD 21921). In 1990 she opted to take the early retirement package but that only lasted a year, and she was back in the Physics Department working part time, which she continued to do until COVID closed the office.
