Mardis leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Mardis’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Mardis will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Ham and Sarah Downin Ham; his daughter Dawn C. Thoms; and his sister Virginia Ganzman. He is survived by: his son Mark E. Ham (Niki) of Rising Sun, MD; and his sister JoAnn Smith (Mickey) of Elkton, MD. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hicks Home For Funerals (103 Stockton St, Elkton, MD 21921). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery (33 Elk Mills Rd, Elkton, MD 21921).
