It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Douglas Permenter of Elkton, Maryland, who passed away on September 2, 2023, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Permenter and Lena Susan McClund Permenter; and his brother Herchel Permenter. He is survived by: his wife Shelia Pennington Permenter; his daughter Deborah Permenter-Maitland (Robert) of McKenney, VA; and his siblings, Violet Riddle of Elkton, Delvin Permenter of Elkton and Karen "Hilda" Calvert of Myrtle Beach, SC. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
